Unfortunately we do not have a lot of information on this photograph of Adelaide P. Mackereth.
Does anyone know something about her?

I don’t know anything about the lady, but I surely can identify the governor’s quarters in the background. Panama canal administrator Jorge Quijano’s is living there at this date, and time.
Adelaide P. Mackereth was a nurse who, according to the 1911 Society of the Chagres Yearbook, in January, 1905, “entered into the service of the Isthmian Canal Commission at Ancon Hospital; was appointed Assistant Chief Nurse at Ancon Hospital in January, 1911.” She earned the Roosevelt Medal (#252) with three bars (158, 99, and 78), representing at least eight years of continuous service with the Isthmian Canal Commission during the 1904-1914 canal construction years. The short bio in the Society of the Chagres Yearbook notes she was from Pennsylvania, and her work as a nurse before going to the Canal Zone included assignments in Cuba, the Philippines, and Japan.
UF has the Society of the Chagres yearbooks digitized and available online.
Adelaide P Mackereth is (was) my great aunt. I have an abundance of information about her.
