What can you tell us about Wes Sequist?
Where did he teach?

That would be J. Weston Seaquist (not Seequist). Science and Biology teacher, Balboa High School in the 1950’s and later. Well respected and liked.
A “Mr. Seaquist” taught me biology in my high school sophomore year (1962/63) at Balboa High School and also directed the audio-visual “club” of students that delivered and picked up audio-visual equipment for teachers throughout the day. Sixteen millimeter movies and thirty five millimeter filmstrips were the cutting edge of information technology and a number of teachers relied on the students to run the equipment for them in their classes. The high point for some us was to show a sixteen millimeter movie in the high school auditorium. This involved operating something called a carbon arc projector. High voltage electricity caused a spark between two carbon rods and created intense light inside the projector.
I understand Mr. Seaquist taught biology at the high school for a number years before shifting to completely to audio-visual work elsewhere in the Panama Canal company, possibly in the latter part of the 1960’s.
I had Mr Seaquist for biology, 1st period, while living in Gamboa and riding the train to school. That made me late to class a few times! 😦 I liked the class and always felt bad about being tardy, but he had a good sense of humor about it. 🙂 BTW, I went on to become an audiovisual librarian and English teacher…
